Softball Recap: Abingdon/Avon Comes Up Short

Abingdon/Avon lost against Havana back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Tornadoes came up short against the Ducks, falling 13-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Tornadoes have suffered against the Ducks since April 13, 2017.

Emma Gunther made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one double.

This is the second loss in a row for Abingdon/Avon and nudges their season record down to 1-5. As for Havana, the victory keeps they at an undefeated 8-0-1.

Looking ahead, Abingdon/Avon will face off against Bushnell-Prairie City at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Tornadoes are facing the Spartans at the right time seeing as the Spartans are stuck on a six-game losing streak. As for Havana, they will take on Brimfield at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
