Softball Recap: Avery County Falls to Madison in First Game of Season

Avery County had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They came up short against the Madison Patriots on Tuesday, falling 16-0. Sadly, the loss continues a streak the team started last season, making it 12 in a row.

Madison's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-2.

Coming up, Avery County will head out to square off against Freedom at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Madison, they will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against North Buncombe at 5:00 p.m. North Buncombe's pitching crew has only allowed two runs per game this season, so Madison's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
