Basketball Recap: Lookout Valley Yellowjackets vs. Copper Basin Cougars
Lookout Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their 19th straight defeat dating back to last season. They were dealt a 66-29 loss at the hands of the Copper Basin Cougars. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Cougars this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 58-48 last Friday.
Leading Copper Basin to victory were Carder Lance and Andrew Crowder. Lance posted 14 points in addition to six boards and four steals, while Crowder put up 16 points and seven rebounds. What's more, Crowder also posted a 50% three-point shooting accuracy, which is the highest he's posted since back in December of 2024. Talon Smith was another key player, putting up eight points and 11 rebounds.
Lookout Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 0-9. As for Copper Basin, their record is now 6-18.
Lookout Valley didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 76-18 loss against Berean Academy on the 11th. As for Copper Basin, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 78-34 defeat against Chattanooga School for the Liberal Arts on the 11th.
