Football Recap: Altamont Comes Up Short

After some red-hot attacks on offense in their last six games, Altamont finally came back down to earth on Friday. They were beaten by the Milford Tigers 72-6. The matchup marked the Longhorns' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Dallan Ledbetter threw for 119 yards and one TD. Colten Mullins was his top target, picking up 56 receiving yards.

It was another big night for Carson Cheney, who threw for 391 yards and eight touchdowns while completing 77.8% of his passes, and also rushed for 39 yards for Milford. Those 391 passing yards gave Cheney a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Griffin Walker, who gained 159 total yards and three touchdowns.

Altamont moved to 5-2 with that loss, which also ended their five-game winning streak. As for Milford, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 5-2.

Altamont has already played their next game, a 28-26 win against Utah Military Academy - Hill Field on the 3rd. As for Milford, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 65-0 victory against Water Canyon on the 3rd.
