Volleyball Recap: North Platte Comes Up Short

North Platte was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They lost 3-0 to the Mid-Buchanan Dragons. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Panthers of the 3-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.

While North Platte was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Mid-Buchanan's winning margin in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-3, 25-11, 25-14.

Rylee Perkins paced North Platte's offense, picking up four kills. Perkins really made an impact as she also led the team in assists with four. Leala Day controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

North Platte's defeat dropped their record down to 4-21. As for Mid-Buchanan, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-11-4 record this season.

North Platte will take on King City/Union Star at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. Mid-Buchanan will be paying especially close attention to the Panthers' matchup: after the Panthers face off against King City/Union Star, they'll take on Mid-Buchanan again at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
