Baseball Game Preview: Walnut Hills Eagles vs. Little Miami Panthers

For the second straight game, Walnut Hills will face off against Little Miami. The Eagles will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against the Panthers at 5:00 p.m.

On Monday, Walnut Hills came up short against Little Miami and fell 5-2. The loss continues a trend for the Eagles in their meetings with the Panthers: they've now lost four in a row.

For Little Miami's part, they got a great performance from Nathan Ricketts as he didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. Ricketts has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Lucas Basta was excellent, going a perfect 2-for-2 with four stolen bases and two runs. Those four stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Thomas Jackson, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

The victory made it two in a row for Little Miami and bumps their season record up to 11-13. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 2 run in those games. As for Walnut Hills, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-18.
