Baseball Recap: Wyoming Area Find Success

Wyoming Area's game last Saturday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Saturday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Valley View Cougars 4-2. The Warriors have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Cougars, too.

Alex Vacula made a splash while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run over six innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one double.

Vacula wasn't the only one making solid contact as six players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Noah Smith, who went 1-for-4 with two RBI. That hit was Smith's first of the season.

Wyoming Area's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-3. As for Valley View, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Wyoming Area and Valley View will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. Wyoming Area is set to face off against their familiar foe Tunkhannock at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Valley View will square off against rival North Pocono at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
