Minnetonka hadn't done well against Wayzata recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. The Skippers sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 victory over the Trojans. Those two runs were actually the fewest the Skippers have put up all season, but given the result they're probably not too concerned.

Minnetonka got a great performance from Mateo Aldecocea as he tossed 5.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits.

Minnetonka pushed their record up to 6-1 with the win, which was their third straight at home. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of 1.33 runs across that stretch. As for Wayzata, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-3 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Minnetonka is set to challenge their familiar foe Edina at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday. Meanwhile, Wayzata will take on rival St. Michael-Albertville at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
