Football Recap: New Caney Takes a Loss + How To Watch

New Caney lost against Cypress Ranch back in September of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Eagles had to suffer through a 62-7 loss at the hands of the Mustangs.

ASHER PRICE threw for 50 yards and one touchdown. KAMERON CLAY was his top target, picking up 28 receiving yards and one score.

Braden Baker had an outrageously good game for Cypress Ranch as he threw for 414 yards and five TDs while completing 80% of his passes. Those 414 passing yards gave Baker a new career-high. Cypress Ranch's leading receiver Joelle Arnett was Baker's top target yet again, picking up 167 receiving yards and a pair of scores.

New Caney's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Cypress Ranch, the win got them back to even at 1-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. New Caney will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Conroe at 7:00 p.m. on the 19th. As for Cypress Ranch, they will take on Memorial at 7:00 p.m. on the 12th.
