Baseball Recap: Pacelli's Win on Monday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Pacelli entered their tilt with Almond-Bancroft on Monday with three consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with four. They blew past the Eagles 23-1. The result was nothing new for the Cardinals, who have now won four matches by eight runs or more so far this season.

Keltin Opper looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Pacelli let Braeden Flaker and Malise Beduhn run wild. Flaker went 2-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base, while Beduhn scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-2. Beduhn has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Eric Reincke, who scored two runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Pacelli always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .659. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Pacelli pushed their record up to 5-2 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average over those games. As for Almond-Bancroft, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-2.

Coming up, Pacelli will venture away from home to take on Adams-Friendship at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Almond-Bancroft, they will face off against Rosholt at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
