Softball Recap: Anson Tigers vs. Reagan County Owls
With a playoff game on the line, Anson rose to the challenge on Thursday. They beat the Reagan County Owls by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 12-0. Anson might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team's won eight contests by nine runs or more this season.
Kayme Elrod was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and only one hit while striking out 11 over five innings pitched. Elrod has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts every time she's pitched this season. Elrod was also stellar in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with a home run and three RBI.
In other batting news, Miley Adkins was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs. Jiselle Ramos was another key contributor, going 2-for-2 with three RBI and a double.
The victory was the sixth in a row for Anson, bringing their record for this year to 15-10. As for Reagan County, their loss dropped their record down to 8-5.
As of now, neither Anson nor Reagan County have any future games scheduled.
