Baseball Recap: Vernon Comes Up Short

Vernon fell victim to Cottondale and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They came up short against the Hornets, falling 9-0. Having soared to a lofty ten runs in the game before, the Yellowjackets' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Vernon moved to 5-12 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak. As for Cottondale, they now have a winning record of 9-8.

Looking ahead, Vernon will square off against Graceville at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Vernon is facing Graceville at the right time seeing as Graceville is stuck on a six-game losing streak. As for Cottondale, they will face off against Holmes County at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Holmes County will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Cottondale surely won't give up without a fight.
