Softball Recap: Fair Lawn Takes a Loss

The Fair Lawn Cutters came up short against the DePaul Catholic Spartans on Tuesday and fell 10-5. The game marked the Cutters' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Morgan Hayes was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one triple. That triple marked the first that she hit this season. Another player making a difference was Maya Showfety, who went 3-for-4 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI.

This is the second loss in a row for Fair Lawn and nudges their season record down to 4-3. As for DePaul Catholic, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

Coming up, Fair Lawn will face off against Pascack Hills at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday. As for DePaul Catholic, they will take on Passaic at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday. The Indians have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 13.4 runs per game on average), something the Spartans will no doubt try to take advantage of.
