Recap: Central Lions vs. Holtville Bulldogs
The Central Lions's six-game losing streak came to an end on Friday. They managed a 72-68 win over Holtville. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Central was led to victory by Iyanis Wallace and Christian Lawrence. Wallace scored 20 points along with 5 rebounds and 4 steals, while Lawrence scored 17 points along with 7 assists and 6 rebounds. That makes it seven consecutive games in which Wallace has scored at least 25% of Central's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyrese Mcrae, who scored 4 points along with 5 rebounds.
Central's win bumped their record up to 1-6. As for Holtville, they bumped their record down to 3-5 with that loss, which was their fourth straight on the road.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Central will square off against Hillcrest at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hillcrest knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past four contests -- so hopefully Central likes a good challenge. Holtville is on the road again on Monday and play against Thorsby at 7:00 p.m. on December 11th.
