Baseball Recap: Four Straight Road Victories for Hamburg

Hamburg barely beat Williamsville East the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Bulldogs put the hurt on the Flames with a sharp 14-7 win on Tuesday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Bulldogs considering their two-run performance the matchup before.

Miles Liebenow looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off four hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Hamburg got a massive performance out of Jason Sekuterski, who went 3-for-5 with three runs, four RBI, and one double. Those four RBI gave Sekuterski a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Zack Williams, who went 4-for-5 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.

Hamburg always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .565. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Hamburg's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-6. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.5 runs over those games. As for Williamsville East, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 11-6-1.

Hamburg has already played their next contest, a 7-7 draw against Sweet Home on the 21st. Williamsville East does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
