Baseball Recap: Caddo Mills Sets Scoring Season-High Against Wills Point

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Caddo Mills). They put the hurt on the Wills Point Tigers with a sharp 14-4 win on Friday. Considering the Foxes have won 11 matchups by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Wade Bowen and Evan English did most of the damage at the plate: Bowen scored three runs and stole two bases while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances, while English scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-3. That's the most runs Bowen has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Jayton Mulkey, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

Caddo Mills is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.1 runs on average over those games. As for Wills Point, their loss was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 5-15.

Coming up, Caddo Mills will venture away from home to square off against Ford at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Wills Point, they will challenge Community at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Braves' pitching crew has only allowed 2.7 runs per game this season, so the Tigers' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
