Baseball Recap: Crown Point Drops Highest Score of Season Against Michigan City

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Crown Point). They put the hurt on the Michigan City Wolves with a sharp 31-7 win on Wednesday. The Bulldogs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 13 games by seven runs or more this season.

The team relied heavily on Sean Dunlap, who fired off two home runs, nine RBI, and three runs while going 4-for-5. Those nine RBI gave him a new career-high. Jaxtyn Alexander was another key player, getting on base in all six of his plate appearances with four runs.

Crown Point was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .467. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .467 or higher in three consecutive contests.

Crown Point is on a roll lately: they've won 14 of their last 15 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 23-4 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.5 runs over those games. As for Michigan City, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-19.
