Baseball Recap: Concord Academy Gets the Win

While Concord Academy's win against Bancroft wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. Concord Academy had just enough and edged out Bancroft 6-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory Concord Academy has posted against Bancroft since May 13, 2016.

Jacob Auspitz tossed a big game, striking out nine batters over 4.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. He has become a key player for Concord Academy: the team is undefeated when he allows at most one earned run, but 2-3 otherwise.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Harris Roebuck, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Roebuck is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's snagged at least one every time he's taken the field this season. Cedric Lin also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Concord Academy's record now sits at 5-3. As for Bancroft, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Coincidentally, Concord Academy and Bancroft will both be playing Beaver Country Day the next time they take the field. Bancroft will host Beaver Country Day at 4:30 p.m. on Monday, while Concord Academy will head out to face them at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
