Soccer Game Preview: North Pole vs. Monroe Catholic

North Pole is preparing for their first conference matchup of the season on Tuesday. They will venture away from home to challenge the Monroe Catholic Rams at 7:30 p.m. North Pole's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for three straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

North Pole came up short against Palmer on Saturday, falling 8-1.

Meanwhile, Monroe Catholic had to kick off their season on the road last Saturday, but they showed no ill effects. Everything went their way against Houston as they made off with a 4-0 victory.

Monroe Catholic hit the Hawks with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Myles Werle, Wayne Horine, Talon Loving, and Tristian Nicholson.

North Pole's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2-1. As for Monroe Catholic, their win bumped their record up to 1-0.

North Pole took their victory against Monroe Catholic when the teams last played back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 8-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Patriots since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
