The Wilson Mules are taking a road trip to square off against the Marshall Barristers at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Wilson is coming into the contest hot, having won their last five games.
While Wilson's win against Eagle Rock wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Mules had just enough and edged out the Eagles 9-8. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Mules have posted since February 22nd.

Diego Gomez was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Arturo Millan, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Wilson kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in 11 consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, Marshall owes their pitching crew a big pat on the back after their performance on Friday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Bravo, sneaking past 2-0. The win continues a trend for the Barristers in their matchups with the Knights: they've now won four in a row.
Andrew Torres was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played.
Wilson's victory was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 14-2. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. As for Marshall, their record is now 11-12.
Marshall's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Wilson has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .517. It's a different story for Marshall, though, as they've only averaged .336. Will they be able to contain Wilson's hitters?
Wilson beat Marshall 12-8 when the teams last played back in May of 2024. Will the Mules repeat their success, or do the Barristers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
