Football Game Preview: Weleetka vs. Maud

If the MaxPreps national rankings hold true, the near future looks bright for Weleetka. On Thursday they will take on Maud at 7:30 PM. Maud will need to watch out since Weleetka have now posted big point totals in their last three contests.

Last Friday, Weleetka put the finishing touches on their 4th blowout victory of the season. They were fully in charge, breezing past Canadian 50-14. Among those leading the charge for Weleetka was junior Brennon Lewis, who rushed for 74 yards and 3 touchdowns. If you haven't heard Lewis's name lately, then you haven't been paying much attention: he has loomed large in their past four games.

Meanwhile, Maud have had to suffer through a four-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They strolled past Caddo with points to spare, taking the matchup 38-20. The success represented a nice turnaround for Maud, who in their last game suffered a tough 14-60 defeat.

Their wins bumped Maud to 3-4 and Weleetka to 5-2. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, Maud and Weleetka will really light up the scoreboard.
