Putnam City extends road losing streak to three

Recap: Putnam City Pirates vs. Stillwater Pioneers

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for the Putnam City Pirates, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. They were dealt a 56-7 loss at the hands of the Pioneers on Friday. Putnam City has struggled against Stillwater recently, as their contest on Friday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

Judson Keefer threw for 193 yards and a touchdown. Visanio Boyd was his top target, picking up 92 receiving yards. On the ground, Elijah Asberry rushed for 55 yards.

Leading Stillwater to victory were Holden Thompson and Chance Acord. Thompson rushed for 150 yards and two touchdowns on only 13 carries, while Acord threw for 351 yards and five touchdowns while completing 84.6% of his passes. Thompson was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 62 yards. Talon Kendrick did his part for the team as well, scoring a TD off of 66 receiving yards.

Putnam City has yet to win a match on the road this season, leaving them with a 5-7 record. As for Stillwater, the win was the ninth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-2.

Putnam City does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Stillwater will take on Choctaw at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Choctaw is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
