Football Recap: Millard North Finds Home Field Redemption Against Omaha Central

There's no place like home for Millard North, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They came out on top against the Omaha Central Eagles by a score of 14-7 on Friday. The score was all tied up 0-0 at the break, but the Mustangs were the better team in the second half.

Zion Rush went supernova, rushing for 100 yards on only nine carries, while also throwing for 50 yards and one touchdown.

Millard North's defense stepped up as well, laying out Yasir Grixby three times. Austin Ruhter refused to say out of the backfield, picking up 1.5 sacks all by himself. He was another major factor on D, picking up 1.5 sacks and making 12 total tackles (3.5 for loss).

Millard North is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 3-5 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 35.0 points over those games. As for Omaha Central, their loss dropped their record down to 5-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Millard North will welcome Columbus at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Discoverers' defense has only allowed 13.6 points per game this season, so the Mustangs' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Omaha Central, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Fremont at 7:00 p.m. The Eagles are facing the Tigers at the right time seeing as the Tigers are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
