Volleyball Recap: Sierra Takes a Loss

Sierra was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Heritage Patriots.

The loss didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Heritage scored at least 17 points in every set. The match finished with set scores of 25-17, 25-22, 20-25, 25-18.

Hannah Threet paced Sierra's offense, picking up 18 kills. Threet got some help from Cianna Leonardo and her 15 assists. Leonardo was also solid from the service line: she led the team with seven aces.

Sierra's defeat dropped their record down to 10-16. As for Heritage, they pushed their record up to 14-9 with the victory, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season.

Sierra wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 3-1 loss against Oakdale on the 14th. As for Heritage, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against Deer Valley on the 16th.
