Basketball Recap: Franklin Takes a Loss

Franklin was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They took a hard 55-39 fall against the New Berlin Eisenhower Lions. The Sabers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Lions apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2020.

Despite the loss, Franklin still got an impressive performance from Brenna Nichols, who posted 11 points along with five boards and three steals. Nichols is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Madeline Lemke, who earned eight points.

Franklin's loss dropped their record down to 2-12. As for New Berlin Eisenhower, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-5.

Franklin has already played their next matchup (against Indian Trail), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. New Berlin Eisenhower didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 64-31 win against Greenfield on the 16th.
