Basketball Game Preview: Frankenmuth Eagles vs. St. Mary's Prep Eaglets

The Frankenmuth Eagles will challenge the St. Mary's Prep Eaglets at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Frankenmuth is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 56.5 points per game this season.

Last Saturday, Frankenmuth beat Edison Academy 52-41. Given the Eagles' advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked tenth, while the Pioneers are ranked 52nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Frankenmuth can attribute much of their success to Macy Donovan, who to rack up 22 points and eight rebounds, and Clare Conzelmann, who posted 19 points. Those 22 points gave Donovan a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Rosemary Brenner, who put up two points and three steals.

Meanwhile, St. Mary's Prep entered their tilt with Romeo on Tuesday with two consecutive wins , and they'll enter their next game with three. They put the hurt on the Bulldogs with a sharp 51-30 victory. The Eaglets have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six matchups by 21 points or more this season.

Frankenmuth's win bumped their record up to 17-4. As for St. Mary's Prep, their victory bumped their record up to 17-3.
