Basketball Game Preview: Hope Academy Trojan Tigers vs. Pathways Eagles

Having just played yesterday, the Hope Academy Trojan Tigers will head out on the road to face off against the Pathways Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both will really light up the scoreboard.

On Thursday, Hope Academy was just a bucket shy of victory and fell 73-72 to South Lake. The Trojan Tigers haven't had much luck with the Eagles recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.

Meanwhile, Pathways earned a 61-50 victory over Life Christian Academy on Tuesday. The win was all the more spectacular given the Eagles' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 307th, while the Lions are ranked 124th).

Hope Academy better keep an eye on Tidiane Diop. He was instrumental in Pathways' win, putting up 17 points. Prabjot Singh was another key player, scoring 11 points.

Pathways is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 6-4 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 72.3 points per game. As for Hope Academy, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 16-6.

Hope Academy skirted past Pathways 55-52 in their previous matchup back in November of 2023. Will Hope Academy repeat their success, or does Pathways have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
