Softball Recap: Era Comes Up Short

Era was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 16-1 to the Honey Grove Warriors. The matchup marked the Hornets' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Era saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Briar Hollis, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-1.

Era's defeat dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Honey Grove, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 6-3-1.

Era and Honey Grove's offenses will be put to the test in their next games. Era will take on De Kalb at 10:25 a.m. on Friday, a squad that's only allowed 2.9 runs per game. Era is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.3 runs per game this season. Similarly, Honey Grove and Bells (who has only given up 2.5 runs per game) will meet at 9:00 a.m. on Friday.
