            Softball Recap: Logansport Berries vs. Northwestern Tigers        
        
		
        
        
            It may have taken  eight innings to finish the job, but Logansport ultimately got the result they hoped for  on Thursday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with  a  3-1  win over the Northwestern Tigers. The Berries haven't had any issues with the Tigers recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive  victory against them.

 Natalee Packard made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She  struck out seven batters over  four innings while giving up just one earned run off   four  hits (and not a single walk). That's the most  strikeouts  she has posted  over her last six  games. She was also big at the plate,  going 2-for-4 with one  run, one  double,  and one  RBI.
 In other batting news,  the team  relied heavily on  Adrienne Scott, who  went 2-for-4 with one  triple, one  stolen base,  and one  run.
Logansport pushed their record up to 18-4 with the  win, which was their fifth straight  on the road. The  road  victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.2 runs on average over those games. As for Northwestern,  they are  on  a  four-game losing streak  that has dropped them down to 7-14.
 Both  squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Logansport will welcome Benton Central  at 11:00  a.m.  on Saturday. As for Northwestern, they will host Peru  at 5:30  p.m.  on Monday.
