Baseball Recap: River Forest Now 3-1 over Last Four Games

River Forest won the last time they faced Lake Station Edison and things went their way on Monday too. The Ingots came out on top against the Fighting Eagles by a score of 9-4. That's two games straight that the Ingots have won by exactly five runs.

The team relied heavily on Walter Jaime, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with four runs and two stolen bases. River Forest is undefeated when Jaime posts two or more runs, but 3-5 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Landon Harper, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

River Forest has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.3 runs over those games. As for Lake Station Edison, their defeat was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-9.

Looking ahead, River Forest will head out to take on Wheeler at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Ingots will need to watch out since the Bearcats have now posted at least ten runs in their last three contests. As for Lake Station Edison, they will be playing at home against Westville at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
