Piedmont extended their postseason success on Friday against West Rowan. They skirted past the Falcons 3-2. Winning may never get old, but the Panthers sure are getting used to it with their ninth in a row.

Jailyn Thomas spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on three hits and racked up eight Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in nine consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Piedmont saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Taylyn Steele, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI.

Piedmont pushed their record up to 21-5 with the win, which was their eighth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.8 runs over those games. As for West Rowan, with the defeat, they broke their five-game winning streak and moved their record to 21-5.

Coming up, Piedmont will face off against Rockingham County at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Panthers 2.3, the Cougars 1.1) so any runs scored will be well earned. West Rowan does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
