Basketball Game Preview: Cavalier Tornadoes vs. Mayville-Portland-Clifford-Galesburg Patriots

Cavalier and Mayville-Portland-Clifford-Galesburg are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2016, but not for long. The Cavalier Tornadoes will welcome the Mayville-Portland-Clifford-Galesburg Patriots at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

Last Tuesday, Cavalier came up short against Northern Cass and fell 49-36. The Tornadoes have struggled against the Jaguars recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.

Meanwhile, Mayville-Portland-Clifford-Galesburg unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting Thompson an easy 63-38 win. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Patriots have suffered since January 27th.
