Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Marcus Fortner and Tristyn Faulk Lead Western Boone to Victory

Western Boone fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back victories it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They came out on top against the Faith Christian Eagles by a score of 51-43 on Monday.

Leading Western Boone to victory were Tristyn Faulk and Marcus Fortner. Faulk shot 4-for-6 from deep and almost dropped a double-double on 19 points and nine boards, while Fortner posted eight points in addition to five rebounds and four steals. Those four steals gave Fortner a new career-high. Gavin Hawkins was another key player, putting up seven points and four steals.

Western Boone's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-10. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.0 points per game. As for Faith Christian, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-15.

Western Boone will be playing in front of their home fans against Crawfordsville at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Western Boone is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53.1 points per game this season.
