Basketball Recap: Mead Extends Winning Streak to Three

With a playoff win on the line, Mead rose to the challenge on Wednesday. They strolled past the Thompson Valley Eagles with points to spare, taking the game 52-36. Winning may never get old, but the Mavericks sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Madi Clark was her usual excellent self, going 8-for-17 on her way to 21 points and four steals. Her big performance that evening made it three games in a row in which she has scored at least 15 points. Darby Haley was another key player, putting up 12 points and three steals.

Mead's record now sits at 22-3. As for Thompson Valley, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 17-8.

Coming up, Mead will challenge Frederick at 11:45 a.m. on Friday. Frederick will roll in looking for their tenth straight victory, something Mead surely won't give up without a fight. Thompson Valley does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
