Baseball Recap: Liberty Snaps Four-Game Streak of Wins on the Road

Liberty and Poly pushed the score to 11-9 the last time they played Poly, but on Thursday defenses reigned supreme. The Bison fell just short of the Bears by a score of 2-1. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Bears this season, with their most recent defeat being a 11-9 loss back in March.

Liberty saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Riley Vogt, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Liberty's defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 9-9. As for Poly, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-9 record this season.

Liberty will be playing in front of their home fans against Lakeside at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Poly, they will challenge Arlington at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The Lions' pitching crew has only allowed 2.1 runs per game this season, so the Bears' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
