Football Recap: North Brunswick Takes a Loss + How To Watch

North Brunswick was the 41-23 winner over West Carteret when they last played one another back in August of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Scorpions and the Patriots were almost perfectly matched up on Friday, but the Scorpions suffered a 36-35 defeat. While the Scorpions didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Patriots 13-7 in the first quarter.

When it comes to explaining why North Brunswick lost, don't look at Kane Jenrette. Despite the final result, he rushed for 255 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 11.1 yards per carry. Jenrette showed off some serious burst, cutting through the defense on one rush that went for 53 yards.

Joshua Bauman was nothing short of spectacular for West Carteret: he rushed for 179 yards and a pair of scores, and also caught one TD. Bauman is crushing it when it comes to rushing yards: he's rushed for at least 144 every time he's taken the field this season. Another player making a difference was Tanner Payne, who threw for 238 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 11.3 yards per attempt.

North Brunswick now has a losing record of 1-2. As for West Carteret, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. North Brunswick will square off against St. Pauls at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for West Carteret, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Dixon at 7:00 p.m. on the 19th.
