Football Game Preview: Oak Grove vs. St. Frederick

Given their disadvantage in the MaxPreps state rankings, St. Frederick should expect quite the challenge on Friday. They take on Oak Grove at 7:00 PM. The teams have set a high bar for this matchup after stand-out offensive performances in their previous contests.

St. Frederick had a rough outing against Loyola College Prep two weeks ago, but a little bit of home cooking seems to have fixed things right up. St. Frederick were the clear victor by a 41-8 margin over Tensas. Followers of St. Frederick probably expected little less of the team in a season in which they have collected three blowout victories.

You're bound to get a positive result if you outscore your opponent every quarter, and that's exactly how it played out between Oak Grove and Delta Charter. Oak Grove were fully in charge last Friday, breezing past Delta Charter 68-31. With Oak Grove ahead 40-18 at the half, the contest was all but over already.

Their wins bumped St. Frederick to 3-1 and Oak Grove to 4-0. In their win, Oak Grove relied heavily on junior Otis Moore, who rushed for 159 yards and 2 touchdowns. St. Frederick will need to find a way to minimize his impact if they want to win.
