Baseball Recap: Pike Central Takes a Loss

Pike Central was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They lost 7-1 to the South Knox Spartans. The Chargers were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Spartans earlier this season, when they won 4-3.

Pike Central saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kody Carter, who went 2-for-3 with one run. That run was Carter's first of the season.

Pike Central's loss dropped their record down to 1-9. As for South Knox, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 3-9.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Pike Central will challenge Forest Park at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for South Knox, they will face off against Evansville Bosse at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Bulldogs have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 10.71 runs per game on average), something the Spartans will no doubt try to take advantage of.
