Basketball Recap: Tamerah Wynn's Big Game Can't Quite Lead T.L. Hanna over Mauldin

T.L. Hanna was the 50-40 winner over Mauldin when they last played one another on January 3rd, but their luck changed this time around. The T.L. Hanna Yellow Jackets fell 57-44 to the Mauldin Mavericks on Friday. The contest marked the Yellow Jackets' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

T.L. Hanna lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Tamerah Wynn, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 11 rebounds. What's more, Wynn also racked up three blocks, the most she's had since back in December of 2023. Another player making a difference was Kamiyah Christian, who posted 15 points and five boards.

Zara Leamon continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Mauldin, dropping a double-double on 20 points and 12 rebounds. Leamon's evening made it three games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. Imani McIver was another key player, putting up ten points in addition to eight boards and three blocks.

T.L. Hanna has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-5 record this season. As for Mauldin, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-3.

T.L. Hanna has already played their next contest, a 50-38 defeat against Westside on the 25th. As for Mauldin, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 68-29 win against Easley on the 28th.
