Baseball Game Preview: Baker County Wildcats vs. Bradford Tornadoes

Baker County has gone 9-1 against Bradford recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Baker County Wildcats will head out on the road to square off against the Bradford Tornadoes at 6:30 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

On Friday, Baker County came up short against Sandalwood and fell 7-3.

Baker County saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Blane Chauncey, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI. The dominant performance gave Chauncey a new career-high in hits.

Meanwhile, Bradford also suffered a loss in their last game, falling to P.K. Yonge by a score of 12-8.

Bradford got a big performance out of Taylor Bice, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. Kaedan Parks also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Even though they lost, Bradford always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .541. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Baker County now has a losing record of 5-6. As for Bradford, their loss dropped their record down to 6-4.

The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Tuesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Baker County has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.4 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Bradford struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.1 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.

Baker County beat Bradford 8-3 when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Will Baker County repeat their success, or does Bradford have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
