Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Wausaukee). They skirted past the Gillett Tigers 6-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Rangers have posted against the Tigers since May 2, 2016.

Keaghan Stumbris made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out ten batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off eight hits. Stumbris was also big at the plate, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs and two RBI. Those runs were her first of the season.

In other batting news, Morgan Verhagen was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs. Skyler Betts was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Wausaukee was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .393. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive matchups.

Wausaukee now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Gillett, their loss dropped their record down to 0-8.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Wausaukee will head out to challenge Coleman at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Cougars have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.88 runs per game on average), something the Rangers will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Gillett, they will venture away from home to take on Niagara at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
