The Whitney Young Dolphins will venture away from home to take on the Barrington Fillies/Broncos at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Whitney Young came out on top against Taft on Friday thanks in part to the team's impressive five-run first inning. The Dolphins never let the Eagles get on the board and left with a 10-0 victory. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Dolphins considering their two-run performance the match before.

Isaac Stoelinga was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Luke Yolich, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Whitney Young kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their hit total in three consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Barrington had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Friday. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 3-2 W against the Huskies. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Fillies/Broncos have posted against the Huskies since May 14, 2021.
Jack Postma spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on four hits.
On the hitting side, Barrington's victory was truly a team effort as seven different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Jackson Roberts, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI.
Barrington's win was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-5-1. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. As for Whitney Young, with the win, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 12-13.
Whitney Young might still be hurting after the 15-2 loss they got from Barrington when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can the Dolphins avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
