Basketball Game Preview: San Juan Diego Catholic Saints vs. Round Rock Christian Academy Crusaders

The San Juan Diego Catholic Saints will take on the Round Rock Christian Academy Crusaders at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

Last Monday, San Juan Diego Catholic lost to Austin Royals HomeSchool at home by a 59-43 margin. The Saints haven't had much luck with the Royals recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Despite their loss, San Juan Diego Catholic saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Aiden McCormick, who went 6-for-14 to rack up 15 points, was perhaps the best of all. Another player making a difference was Matthew Perez, who posted 14 points.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Round Rock Christian Academy). They came out on top against Austin Classical by a score of 67-55 on Monday.

Round Rock Christian Academy's win came from a few key players San Juan Diego Catholic will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Jesse Wehba, who shot 67% from the field on his way to 18 points. That's the most points he has posted since back in December of 2024. Ryan Lieder was another key player, putting up six points along with seven rebounds and six assists.

San Juan Diego Catholic's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Round Rock Christian Academy, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-4.

San Juan Diego Catholic barely slipped by Round Rock Christian Academy in their previous meeting back in November of 2024, winning 51-50. Do the Saints have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Crusaders turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
