Softball Recap: Amsterdam Extends Winning Streak to Three

Amsterdam entered their tilt with Broadalbin-Perth on Monday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They walked away with a 6-3 victory over the Patriots. This was a revenge game for the Rams: when they faced off against the Patriots on April 7th, they had to take a 3-0 defeat.

Elianna Tirado was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Tirado wasn't the only one making solid contact: Amsterdam kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 11 hits in three consecutive games.

Amsterdam pushed their record up to 3-8 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Broadalbin-Perth, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-8.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Amsterdam will venture away from home to square off against Scotia-Glenville at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Broadalbin-Perth, they will head out to face off against Duanesburg at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Patriots' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Eagles have averaged an impressive 9.6 runs per game this season.
