Softball Recap: River Forest Extends Road Winning Streak to Four

While River Forest didn't have the best season last year (they finished 9-11), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. Everything went their way against the Gary West Side Cougars on Saturday as they made off with a 17-7 victory. Considering the Ingots have won three games by more than nine runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Julianna Bailey was incredible, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs, three RBI, and one triple. That triple marked the first that she hit this season. D'Yanna Hurn was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

River Forest always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .706. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .667 or higher every time they've taken the field this season.

River Forest's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 4-0. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 16.8 runs this season. As for Gary West Side, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.
