Softball Game Preview: Emmanuel Christian Warriors vs. Ottawa Hills Green Bears

Emmanuel Christian is a perfect 6-0 against Ottawa Hills since April of 2022 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Saturday. The Warriors will look to defend their home field against the Green Bears at 11:00 a.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.

On Friday, Emmanuel Christian was able to grind out a solid win over Rogers, taking the game 12-7. The victory continues a trend for the Warriors in their matchups with the Rams: they've now won four in a row.

Maggie Woodward made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 13 batters over seven innings while giving up four earned (and three unearned) runs off nine hits. Those 13 strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ariella Morris, who fired off two home runs, three runs, and three RBI while going 3-for-4. Those two home runs gave her a new career-high. Paris Foster was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

Emmanuel Christian kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits every time they've taken the field this season.

Meanwhile, Ottawa Hills was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their tenth straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 30-21 to Waite. Even if the Green Bears couldn't come away with the win, the high-scoring effort was a great turnaround for their hitters, which had struggled int the games prior.

Emmanuel Christian's victory bumped their record up to 4-2. As for Ottawa Hills, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-5.
