Baseball Recap: West Carrollton Comes Up Short

West Carrollton had lost seven straight at home, but on Wednesday they dropped down to 1-15 to make it eight. They came up short against the Stebbins Indians, falling 13-2. The Pirates were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Indians apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2025.

Drew Strauss made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI.

As for Stebbins, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-9. They not only won on Wednesday, but they posted their biggest win since March 30th (when they won 13-1).

On Stebbins' side, the team relied heavily on Brayden Walters, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one stolen base. Those three RBI gave Walters a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Gavin Canup, who got on base in two of his three plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs.

Looking ahead, Stebbins will take on Carroll at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. West Carrollton will be paying especially close attention to the Indians' game: after the Indians face off against the Patriots, they'll take on West Carrollton again at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
