Basketball Game Preview: Smithfield Packers vs. Lafayette Rams

The Smithfield Packers are headed away from home for the first time to challenge the Lafayette Rams at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Smithfield has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 199 points over their last three games.

On Wednesday, Smithfield narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Bruton 80-78. That's two games straight that the Packers have won by exactly two points.

Meanwhile, Lafayette didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Warhill on Wednesday, but they still walked away with a 51-45 victory.

Smithfield's win was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-0. As for Lafayette, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.

Smithfield couldn't quite finish off Lafayette in their previous matchup back in January and fell 54-51. Can Smithfield avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
