Recap: Loretto Angels vs. San Elizario Eagles

The Loretto Angels's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fifth straight loss. They took a 36-24 hit to the loss column at the hands of San Elizario. Loretto has not had much luck with the Eagles recently, as the team's come up short the last eight times they've met.

It was another big night for Maya Contreras, who almost dropped a triple-double on 14 points, 17 rebounds, and nine blocks for San Elizario. That makes it nine consecutive games in which Contreras has scored at least a third of San Elizario's points.

Loretto's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-16. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 20.0 points per game. As for San Elizario, their win bumped their record up to 10-15.

Loretto does not have any more games scheduled as of now. San Elizario will head out on the road to take on the Rangers at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Riverside will be looking to extend their current 25-game winning streak.
