Baseball Recap: Mechanicsburg's Win Ends Four-Game Losing Streak on the Road

After only two runs in their last matchup, Mechanicsburg made sure to put some runs up on the board against Mifflin County on Thursday. The Wildcats came out on top against the Huskies by a score of 11-7. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-2 back in April.

Gino Coleman tossed a big game, tossing 5.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. He is becoming a predictor of Mechanicsburg's success: when he allows at most two earned runs the team is 8-3 (and 3-4 when he doesn't).

At the plate, Jager Nailor was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March. Eli Reider was another key player, going 1-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple.

Mechanicsburg's win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 11-7. As for Mifflin County, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-7.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mechanicsburg will take on Northern York at 4:15 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Wildcats 4, the Polar Bears 2.7) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Mifflin County, they will challenge Cedar Cliff at 4:15 p.m. on Friday. The Colts will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something the Huskies surely won't give up without a fight.
